Rescuers using flares found a missing research worker in a Malaysia forest after a five-day search.

Research assistant Tajuddin Mustapha was found on a gravel road in the Deramakot forest reserve after taking a detour to look for herbs when carrying out an inventory of trees.

Fifty personnel from the fire and forestry departments and the police general operations force took part in the search, reports the Free Malaysia Today website.

The search teams had used flares and a helicopter in their search in the 55,507-hectare forest reserve.
